RESTORING DAWNLAND—-

A Feeling – A Relationship

Mace-kselomal (“s/he starts to love”)

Chief continues:

“But it’s not just me. It’s something that is happening to others. I see it in your eyes, I hear it in your questions. I know when you attend events like this, asking those same questions. My lineage goes back thousands of years. But your 400 years, it’s really starting to get to you, isn’t it? It’s important. Listen. Pay attention. It’s all around us. Messages coming from everywhere. And by the way, it’s enjoyable and have fun.”

For the Peskotomuhkati, this is a love story about a place and its living things, all peoples, all beings. That love story cannot unfold in the amazing way it should if

  1. the Bay is not restored
  2. the Peskotomuhkati people, the traditional keepers of this incredible place, are not also restored.

These two restorations will then bring restoration for all of us.
